Boulder, Loveland credit unions merge

BOULDER – Elevations Credit Union in Boulder and Longs Peak Credit Union in Loveland will merge pending approval by Longs Peak’s members.

The merger also requires approval by the National Credit Union Administration and the state of Colorado, Division of Financial Services. If approved, the merger would take effect June 1.

Each credit union would operate separately until integration of the two organizations is complete, which would require several months. The merger would provide nine branches from Loveland to Westminster.

Elevations Credit Union has more than 80,000 members along the Front Range with assets of more than $937 million. Longs Peak Credit Union has 4,000 members and assets of $20 million.

“We see this as a natural fit, both culturally and geographically, and as a move that would provide added value to the members of both credit unions,´ said Eric Jones, Elevations’ board chairman. “Both credit unions are locally owned and have the same core values in serving members. We’re excited about this opportunity to build on those strengths to create an even more dynamic credit union.”
