More awards for NCBR

DENVER – The Society of Professional Journalists had a few surprises for the Northern Colorado Business Report staff at the April 10 awards banquet: two additional honors not released before the April 9 issue of NCBR went to press.

Longtime contributor Jane Albritton picked up a first-place award for her coverage of the effects of the recession on the local restaurant industry in her monthly Stepping Out column.

Copyeditor and Web editor Noah Guillaume took home second place for headline writing, bringing NCBR’s total medal count in this year’s Top of the Rockies competition to eight.

“To have the quality of the work done by our editorial staff issue after issue recognized by their peers, especially when judged against that being done by other papers of a similar size throughout the four-state SPJ region is just fantastic,´ said Jeff Nuttall, publisher. “We will continue to work hard to bring the best, most complete coverage of business in Northern Colorado.”
