Medical fitness center breaks ground in Water Valley

WINDSOR – After some delay, Poudre Valley Health Systems will break ground on its medical fitness center in Windsor’s Water Valley development.

PVHS first announced plans for the Marina Health Campus in mid-2008, with an opening scheduled for fall of 2009. The economic downtown pushed that back until now.

On Friday, PVHS, Dohn Construction Inc. and Water Valley will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the first facility on the campus – Poudre Valley Medical Fitness at Marina Health Campus. The center will occupy 18,727 square feet of the 66,392-square-foot campus. Other tenants will include physician offices, physical fitness providers and other health-care services.

Poudre Valley Medical Fitness will be available to PVHS patients and through membership. The facility will house pulmonary rehabilitation, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, wellness services and radiology services.

“Poudre Valley Medical Fitness will be much more than a health club or a gym,´ said Rulon Stacey, PVHS CEO, in a prepared statement. “It will be a medically supervised center that focuses on prevention and treatment of diseases, illnesses and injuries through regular participation in physical activity, disease management and health education.”
