All funds committed for CDOT stimulus projects

DENVER – The last of Colorado’s highway projects under the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act received approval from the Federal
Highway Administration this week.

The state had to have the $385.6 million obligated by March 2.
Altogether, 95 projects have been advertised for bids, 77 are under contract, 69
are under construction and 19 are complete.

Nineteen projects are in Larimer and Weld counties, with a total cost
of just over $30 million. The largest Northern Colorado project is
roadway surface improvements on Interstate 25 between U.S. Highway 34
and Colorado Highway 392 in Larimer County, with an estimated cost of
$7 million of which $6.86 million is coming from ARRA. The project is
listed as “under construction” in the state’s database, but completion
date is shown as October 2009.
