House approves transportation funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Northern Colorado transportation projects, including the Mason Corridor in Fort Collins and two bridges in the Big Thompson Canyon, will receive funding under an appropriations measure approved by the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday.
The Mason Corridor bus rapid transit project in Fort Collins stands to receive more than $49 million, and U.S. Highway 287 in Berthoud will see $300,000 in improvements such as surface overlay, pavement markings, seeding, mulching and traffic control.
In the Upper Big Thompson Canyon, $600,000 is to be used to replace two bridges on U.S. Highway 34, near Estes Park, considered by the Colorado Department of Transportation to be in “poor” condition. The improvements also include pavement markings, guardrail improvements, seeding, mulching and traffic control.
