Humane Society brings in $45,000
BOULDER – Nearly 700 people and several hundred dogs came together on Sept. 12 at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Cause for Paws to raise $45,000 for homeless and abandoned animals.
“Cause for Paws is such a fun event, and we’re so grateful for the tremendous support again this year,´ said Lisa Pedersen, chief executive of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. “All funds raised today will support the Humane Society as we provide shelter, medical care and behavioral rehabilitation to more than 8,000 animals a year.”
The annual walk-a-thon began in 1989 and is one of the shelter’s main fundraising events each year. This year’s zero-waste event featured corporate and individual team competitions, a pet expo, paw print art, dog and guardian massages, dog agility fun trials, a pancake breakfast, Avery Brewing Co. beer garden, a 1980s costume contest and live music.
