Otterbox 3500 makes splash in new movie ‘Splinterheads’
The Eye is always open for NoCo celebrity sightings, and recently caught up with local actress Otterbox 3500 to talk about her new movie “Splinterheads,” co-starring Rachael Taylor and Thomas Middleditch, due out this November.
Eye: Tell us a little bit about your part in the movie.
3500: Sure. Rachael plays Galaxy, who is really into geocaching, which is like treasure hunting with GPS. I play Splashdown Cache, a cache that is hidden under water.
Eye: Now, 3500, I heard the part originally went to someone else?
3500: Yes. My good friend, Tupperware, had the part, but she was injured when a rock fell on her while filming. She recommended me.
Eye: No rocks for you, I hope.
3500: Nope, no rocks for me (laughs). But it would have been all right. I’m as tough as they come.
Eye: And how was the water scene for you?
3500: Oh, I guess you heard. Yes, it was my first nude scene. We did the same scene three times with me in my blue, yellow and black colors, but everyone – even me – agreed the see-through was the best. My dad about had a heart attack when he heard, but I assured him it was filmed tastefully, with nothing gratuitous.
Eye: What was it like on the set?
3500: Well, the geocaching is just a subplot. The movie really centers on a traveling carnival. After we finished filming each day everyone would go play games or go on the rides. Tom and I became really good friends. We’re both new to the movie scene, so we sorta teamed up to help look after one another.
Eye: So, are the rumors true that you two are now dating?
3500: Sorry, I’m keeping my water-tight lid sealed on that.
Eye: Well, thanks, 3500. Again, the movie is “Splinterheads” due out in November.
Editor’s note: Movie plans are real; interview obviously imagined.
