Colorado lost 15,000 manufacturing jobs over last year
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Colorado lost about 15,000 manufacturing jobs over a one-year period that ended in July, according to figures released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The report said a total of 1.52 million manufacturing jobs were lost across the nation between July 2008 and July 2009. Colorado placed 29th on the list of states with the most manufacturing job losses.
Ohio had the biggest total loss, losing 127,000 manufacturing jobs. Rounding out the top 5 states with losses were California (123,400), Michigan (108,900), Illinois (83,500) and Indiana (80,800).

Alaska reported the least number of jobs lost with no change in its numbers and Wyoming had the next lowest loss at 200 jobs.
