Riverwalk purchase approved by Fort Collins council
FORT COLLINS – The Fort Collins City Council has approved a $5.8 million purchase of 128 acres of the 260-acre Riverwalk property at the southwest corner of the Interstate 25 and East Harmony Road interchange.
The council voted unanimously on Aug. 18 to approve the deal between the city and local developer Jay Stoner, owner of the property. Under the agreement, the city will use most of the southern portion of the original parcel as a water storage reservoir to manage releases of treated wastewater into the Poudre River.
