Yodice acquires pet snack company

BOULDER – The new owner of Boulder Bones LLC, a Boulder-based maker of all-natural treats for dogs, plans to relaunch its products in August.

Elizabeth Yodice said she bought the company from Christina Cabbage July 1 because she believes in the product and because the energy bones are produced in Boulder.

Yodice would not disclose financial terms of the sale.

The company, which is operated out of Yodice’s home where she is the only employee, makes all-natural energy bones for dogs using ingredients such as whole wheat flour, oatmeal, peanut butter, molasses, apple sauce and more. Previously the dog treats were sold via 15 retailers, which Yodice plans to continue using.

Yodice plans to hire a couple people to help her bake as well as produce new flavors, change packaging and increase marketing efforts.
