Troy Seaworth named Master Agriculturist

FORT COLLINS – Troy Seaworth, a third-generation Wellington area farmer, was named Master Agriculturist for 2008 by the Rotary Club of Fort Collins at the club’s annual 2009 Rural-Urban Day.

Seaworth is the third member of his family to receive the award, with his father, Richard, receiving the honor in 1997 and his grandfather, Harlan, receiving the award in 1968. Seaworth’s award marked the club’s first “three-peat” for one family since beginning the award in 1964, said club member Kirvin Knox.

The Seaworth family farms the same 160-acre operation founded in 1929. A graduate of Poudre High School who holds a bachelor’s degree in crop science from Kansas State University, Seaworth farms with his father and grows corn, sugar beets and pinto beans.
