Children’s Hospital opening tonight

BROOMFIELD – The Children’s Hospital new Broomfield campus will open at 7 p.m. Monday with urgent-care services, and its specialty clinics are scheduled to open Tuesday.

The new hospital, located at 469 W. Colorado 7, is a 46,000-square-foot facility ( compared to the old hospital’s 11,100 square feet ( and will have specialty clinics such as behavioral science, audiology, sports medicine, sleep studies, adolescent gynecology and ultrasound. It will also offer 24-hour urgent care.

While not directly associated with The Children’s Hospital, the 46,000-square-foot facility has a 15,000-square-foot surgery center attached. The center has a handful of operation as well as pre-operation and post-operation rooms.

The old Broomfield children’s hospital, located at 340 E. 1st Ave., Suite 100, was closed at 12 a.m. Monday to give staff enough time to transfer necessary equipment or supplies to the new location.

A public open house for the $30 million hospital is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m.
