Catalina to build Broomfield apartments

BROOMFIELD – A Greenwood Village-based developer has announced a new mixed-use development in Broomfield called Terracina with 376 luxury apartments and 45,000 square feet of retail stores.

Catalina Development Co. will build the development directly east of the planned ConocoPhillips campus, on the northeast corner of Via Varra and Carbon roads, near the Northwest Parkway. The 17-acre property also sits nearby the new Vantage Pointe residential development and two new proposed hotels in the area known as Parkway Circle.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

The company expects to begin pre-leasing in early 2009. Units should be available before 2010.

Terracina will feature a Tuscan-style architecture with red tile roofs and include seven different floor plans of one- and two-bedroom apartments. The community will include an executive business center, gas barbecue grills, outdoor fireplace and picnic areas, a fitness center, a swimming pool and spa with fountains, poolside wireless Internet access, a basketball court, putting green and a bocce-ball court. Additional amenities in each villa will include island kitchens, large walk-in closets, nine-foot ceilings, and private balconies and patios.

“Broomfield is one of the most desirable communities in the metro-Denver area and provides both beautiful views and convenience for work or play,” Catalina President Randy Bryant said in a press release. “We also chose this area because of the incredible growth and employment opportunities at Conoco/Phillips, Level 3 Communications, Sun Microsystems and many others are within a few miles of Terracina.”

The developers are also billing Terracina as within walking distance to the proposed RTD FasTracks commuter rail station at the existing U.S. 36/East Flatiron Circle Park-n-Ride.
