Peters leaving Greeley for Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — Kelly Peters is leaving her post as the city of Greeley’s economic development director to join the Fort Collins Innovation Center and the city of Fort Collins’ economic health office.

She will begin serving in the Innovation Center role in mid-December and with the city in January. She will split her time to support both organizations.

The Fort Collins Innovation Center is a part of the Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative. The initiative was launched in October with the goal of uniting several efforts to foster business growth under one umbrella.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

Mark Forsyth, formerly the executive director of the Fort Collins Technology Incubator, now serves as the director of the initiative. Forsyth will continue in his role, but will receive assistance from Peters to handle the increasing workload.

At the city, she will support existing initiatives through business outreach and tracking new companies.

Peters joined the city of Greeley in May 2006. Prior to that, she served as the executive director for the Loveland Center for Business Development. She has also worked in board or committee roles at the Colorado State Board of Economic Developers, Front Range Economic Gardeners, Larimer County Workforce Board and the Northern Colorado Business Assistance Consortium.
