JBS Swift to cut beef production in Greeley

GREELEY — JBS Swift said it is cutting back on its beef production in Greeley and three other plants in the United States because of poor market conditions.

Sao Paulo, Brazil-based JBS, the world’s largest beef producer, also has plants in Dumas, Texas; Grand Island, Neb. and Hyrum, Utah. Marco Sampaio, JBS Swift spokesman in Greeley, said in an interview with Reuters that work hours will be reduced at all of the plants starting next week.

Sampaio did not respond to calls for comment from the Business Report before the deadline for this report.
