Gross sales up in June

DENVER – Gross sales statewide in June rose by 3.3 percent over the same month one year earlier, according to figures just released by the Colorado Department of Revenue.

The report for June — the latest data available — also showed retail sales across the state climbing by 3.9 percent over the same month in 2006. Gross sales in June 2007 totaled $16.8 billion while retail sales were $12.852 billion.

Net taxable sales rose 4.7 percent to $6.3 billion during the month and net sales tax also rose 4.7 percent, totaling $176.3 million.
