In-Situ, TauTheta merger opens new markets

FORT COLLINS – Water-quality monitoring specialist In-Situ Inc. of Fort Collins has acquired a Boulder company that has developed an optical instrument that measures oxygen content in water, serving a key segment of In-Situ’s market and opening others.

The acquisition of TauTheta Instruments LLC and its optical monitoring technology allows In-Situ to expand its range of products for monitoring oxygen at wastewater treatment plants, fish farms and other aquaculture businesses.

In-Situ in 2004 was the first company to develop and market an optical system to measure dissolved oxygen in water. Its applications were mostly geared to on-site environmental monitoring.
