CDOT: U.S. 36 congestion top priority

BROOMFIELD – The executive director of the Colorado Department of Transportation said today that relieving traffic congestion along the U.S. 36 corridor between Westminster and Boulder is a top priority for the state.

“U.S. 36 is one of the state’s most important employment corridors, and with explosive growth comes traffic congestion,” Russ George, the department’s executive director, told about 100 businesspeople and elected government officials gathered at Level 3 Communications Inc. in Broomfield. The group previewed options under consideration in the U.S. 36 Draft Environmental Impact Statement that will be released officially in July.
