Embassy Suite Hotel location finalized

LOVELAND ? It?s final: A decision has been made to build the much-anticipated Embassy Suite Hotel – Loveland on the southwest corner of The Ranch, the new Larimer County fairgrounds complex at the intersection of Interstate 25 and Crossroads Boulevard.
Plans to build the $35-million, 250-suite hotel and adjoining 80,000-square-foot convention center were first announced in March 2003. The original location for the project was on John Hammons Hotels Inc.-owned land across the interstate from the decided-upon site.
There are no immediate plans for that land, according to Veanne Stocking, regional vice president for John Q. Hammons Hotels.
?I still own the property, and I?m going to keep owning it,? said John Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of the company.
“A quality, full-service hotel has always been a part of the master plan for the Larimer County Fairgrounds,´ said Jay Hardy, director of the Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex.
The decision to move the hotel was spurred by interest of the fairgrounds in the hotel, according to Hammons.
The suites will feature a private bathroom, a living room with a sofa sleeper, wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. They will also be equipped with a hairdryer, iron, full-size ironing board, two dual-line telephones with voice mail, high-speed Internet access, two televisions and a Sony Playstation. The main ballroom will be 27,000 square feet.
?Its going to be nicer than anything you have got down there now,? said Hammons of the planned hotel.
Hammons anticipates groundbreaking no later than early spring 2005, but said it could begin as early as this fall. The hotel/convention center will take be approximately 18 months to build.
The Loveland hotel is the fourth full-service hotel built by John Q. Hammons along the Front Range. The company has a total of 60 hotels nationwide.
