Colorado Community Bank plans Severance branch

SEVERANCE – Colorado Community Bank plans to build a branch in Severance, further expanding the Yuma-based bank’s presence in Weld County.

“This is a good opportunity in a growing area,´ said Jerry Bryant, chairman and president of Washington Investment Company, the holding company for the bank.

Bryant hopes the location will open this fall, depending on building approval.

Colorado Community Bank – a branch of First National Bank of Yuma – currently has locations in Greeley, Loveland, Johnstown and Milliken. Bryant said he wasn’t sure if the bank would open in a trailer initially or in a building, but he was hoping to open in a building.

Bryant is known for opening branches in areas of potential growth while they are still considered obscure.

“The same thing happened in Milliken when I opened that six years ago,” he said. “It was a small, sleepy town that grew into the bank. Now in Severance we need to work on that business district and build it up.”
