New Product Hunt uncovers products designed to improve health, safety

BOSTON — A panel of invention industry experts selected top new consumer products from a field of 400 submissions for the first New Product Hunt.

New inventions included products included medical devices and safety products.

Among the top 10 were:

Hand/Wrist Restorer — a disposable, wearable device designed to help relieve problems associated with carpal tunnel syndrome. Inventor: Clyde Morgan – Olathe, Kan.

Little Steps Handrail — a handrail that attaches several inches below an existing handrail and is designed to make climbing steps safer for small children. Little Steps can be easily mounted and removed without damage to the wall or existing handrail. Inventor: Karen Hargis, Livonia, Mich.

Mother’s 3rd Arm — a bottle/cup holder designed with a universal flexible “arm” that easily attaches to wheelchairs, tables, strollers, etc. Inventor: Margo Smith, Phoenix, Ariz.

Multi-Alert — a multiple-unit smoke detector system that relays wireless emergency signals to other smoke detectors within a home or office. Inventor: Richard Kirchner – Janesville, Wis.

Polar Fusion SoundFlips — acoustically designed ear warmers that allow users to hear outside sounds more clearly. Inventor: Spring Faussett – Mountlake, Wash.
