AE scientist wins national award
FORT COLLINS – William D. Sproul, a senior scientist with Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: AEIS), has received a Mentor Award from the Society of Vacuum Coaters for his contributions to high rate, reactive, unbalanced magnetron sputtering of hard and superhard coatings technologies.
“I am very honored to be named one of the 2003 Mentor Award winners and equally as thrilled to be included among the 25 other inaugural winners, including John Thornton, with whom I had the privilege of working with over 16 years ago,” Sproul said.
Sproul joined Advanced Energy in 2002 as a senior scientist, specializing in emerging process power technology for reactive sputtering applications. He was nominated with two other 2003 award recipients Roger Phillips of Flex Products Inc. and Peter Martin with Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratory.
