Recycling center puts energy-saving ideas to work

BOULDER ? Boulder County Recycling is practicing what it preaches.

A new 51,200-square-foot processing center and administrative offices opened in early July at 63rd Street north of Arapahoe Road, said Jeff Callahan, executive director of the Boulder County Recycling and Composting Authority. The new center will replace the Eco-Cycle processing facilities in Martin Street in Longmont and on Pearl Street in Boulder.

“Both (the Longmont and Boulder locations) are pretty close to or are over capacity for what they should handle,” Callahan said.
