Register now for IQ Awards luncheon

Registration is now in full swing for the second annual IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards luncheon to be held Tuesday, July 24 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield.

Three finalists in nine different categories now have been selected by a panel of five judges. The winner in each category will be announced at the awards luncheon.

This year’s awards, organized by The Boulder County Business Report, will recognize the most innovative products and services in Boulder County and the Denver/Boulder Corridor in the categories of business, computers, consumer, medical, Internet and Web, software, sports and outdoor recreation, telecommunications and non-profits.

Luncheon reservations can be made using Mastercard or Visa by registering online at www.IQAwards.com or by calling The Boulder County Business Report directly at (303) 440-4950. Tickets are $50 per person; corporate tables are available for $450. Last year’s premiere awards luncheon was a sell-out, so companies are urged to get their reservations in now.

“We’re going to have what I think may be the most upbeat, fun and innovative awards luncheon of the year,´ said Jerry W. Lewis, editor and co-publisher of The Business Report. “If you do business here in Boulder County, this is an event you will want to attend.”

The IQ Awards luncheon will begin this year at 11 a.m. for networking and a chance to meet the top IQ Awards sponsors. The luncheon event will run to 1:30 p.m.

Tim Enwall, managing vice president of Gartner Solista, a Boulder-based unit of Gartner Consulting, is the keynote speaker for the awards luncheon. He will be speaking on “Innovation Cycles” and why Colorado companies are poised to take advantage of the next boom in new inventions and ideas.

With more than 20 years of high-tech business management experience, Enwall most recently helped launch Solista, a 40-person emerging technology advisory firm with operations on three continents. In late 2000, Solista was sold to Garnter for $11 million.

Prior to Solista, Enwall was involved in electronic commerce initiatives for General Electric and Lockheed Corporation. He has held emerging technology roles in Apple Computer, InfoNow and Requisite Technology.

Arthur Andersen returns as the event’s founding sponsor. Corporate sponsor is Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison; Partner sponsors are Chrisman, Bynum & Johnson, Engineering Computer Consultants Inc. in partnership with Microsoft; Marsh and MCSi; Associate sponsors are Clifton Gunderson, hall kinion, Mountain Aviation Inc., Pratt and Gartner Solista. For information on corporate sponsorships, contact BCBR Co-publisher Jeff Schott at (303) 440-4950, or by e-mail at jschott@bcbr.com.
