City already strong player in Convergence Corridor
LONGMONT ? One out of four primary jobs in Longmont is in advanced technology, making it a surprisingly large part of the technological “Convergence Corridor” along the Front Range.
Approximately 16,000 primary jobs exist in the Longmont area, including about 4,000 in such fields as biotechnology, software, photonics and computer storage, said John Cody, president and chief executive officer of the Longmont Area Economic Council. Cody is professional’s Chair for the Metro Denver Network, the economic development arm of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Last year, the Metro Denver Network launched a campaign branding the Front as the Convergence Corridor.
