Evans residential growth exploding

‘Bedroom’ community marching west along U.S. 34

Like the tumbleweeds that still roll across the Eastern Colorado plains, residential growth in Evans has marched relentlessly west in recent years along the U.S. Highway 34 bypass from the town’s original berth east of U.S. Highway 85.

Unlike tumbleweeds, however, Evans hasn’t been kicked into motion by the wind. Instead, factors like available land, increasingly mobile commuters, the search for affordable housing and nostalgia for that small-town feel have Evans expanding.
