“I would like to see the Crossroads Mall commensurate with the other developments happening in Boulder. ? I’m not sure how I feel about the SuperTarget. I think Boulder needs one, but I’m not sure it should go at Crossroads. ? I would like to see it developed with a multiplex theater with a lot of locally owned boutique-type shops. ? Boulder is a very sophisticated, highly educated community, and I think the people who live here would welcome a diverse retail complex.”Vahe Christianian

“We have such an opportunity with such restrictions on land use ? we have such a large parcel here that’s been designated for retail sales tax. ? I think Crossroads has been an embarrassment to the community not just because of what’s there, but that we haven’t managed to do anything with it. ?Blame the elected officials and the unfortunate bastards who have the power to do something and haven’t. ?
Crossroads has become such an eyesore.”Lou DellaCava

“It would be nice to think that Crossroads could attempt to fill a more diverse breadth of needs for the citizens of Boulder,” (commenting on a possible SuperTarget or other big-box store opening at Crossroads Mall). ? If at least basic needs can be met for the citizens, then it’s a step in the right direction. The fact that Boulder citizens are heading to other communities for things like toilet paper and toothpaste, we’ve failed them somehow (about Boulder citizens going to discount stores in nearby Superior). ? After three years of watching Crossroads decay, most of us are frustrated. ? If it’s (SuperTarget) the best we can attract, at least it’s something ? possibly the impetus for others.”Jim Kinkead

“This isn’t a very appropriate place anymore for a printing company. It’s hard for clients to get in and out of here and the traffic is crazy on Pearl. ?Parking isn’t the greatest, and a big-box store certainly wouldn’t help that. I guess I’m not real thrilled about it.”Carol Scott

“We think the city should step up and get something going. ? We can’t shut down the city trying to just have small businesses. I think it will harm the city in the long run.”
