Corporate drive collects 35,941 pounds of food

LONGMONT — Community Food Share (CFS) recently completed its Sixth Corporate Food Drive Challenge, called Cupid Cans Hunger, with 50 Boulder County corporations competing to collect the greatest amount of food and monetary donations.

From Feb. 14 to Feb. 28, 35,941 pounds of food and $10,567 were collected by the combined efforts of more than 17,000 employees from these corporations.

Hunter Douglas Inc. won the Most Pounds Collected with total of 5,489 pounds. Chrisman Bynum & Johnson won Most Pounds Collected Per Employee with an unprecedented total 41.10 pounds per employee.

Storage Technology employees collected the Most Dollars at $1,900, and Qualcomm won Most Dollars Per Employee at $20.94 each.

The Challenge has now collected more than 250,000 pounds of food from over 120 area companies since its inception in 1995.

All participants will be recognized at the upcoming awards reception, which will be held on March 28 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Community Food Share’s facility off Colorado Highway 52 in Niwot.
