?Collections 2001? exhibits art from businesses
DENVER ? Corporate Collections 2001, a project of the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA), is featuring approximately 80 major works of art on loan from 18 corporations and businesses in the Denver-Boulder area. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Presented by Brookfield Properties, the visual art exhibit, the fifth of its kind, will be located in the two-story lobby of Republic Plaza at 370 17th St. in downtown Denver. The exhibit demonstrates the commitment businesses have made to support the arts, by adding to the visual and cultural environments of their workplace.
A special opening reception, sponsored by Ernst & Young, was held in Republic Plaza on Thursday evening, Jan. 25 to honor participating corporations.

On Wednesday, March 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., exhibit curator Andra Archer will present “The Art of Collecting,” the how-to’s of art collecting and a tour of the exhibition. Ernst & Young is sponsoring the program that addresses aspects of both individual and corporate collecting.
Corporate Collections 2001 is presented by Brookfield Properties, owner and manager of Republic Plaza. It is part of the ongoing Art in Public Places program that began in the summer of 1995. The exhibit encompasses the lobby and concourse levels of Republic Plaza. The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CBCA was formed in 1984 by leading Colorado businesses to encourage and enhance business support for the arts in Colorado. With more than 125 members, CBCA is a catalyst for business and arts partnerships, creating awareness of the arts community as a vehicle for employee relations, customer communication, economic development and employee education.
