Greeley store still sitting with family
An aging sign that reads, “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten,” greets customers to Ben’s Furniture Store in Greeley.
It’s a lesson Ben Gonzales learned as a newlywed and lived out in the store he opened in 1969. It’s a lesson his son Mitch and business partner Lincoln Gallegos continue today.
It all began in 1967 when Ben, who was working for Gamble’s discount store in La Junta, was transferred to Gamble’s in Greeley.
