Saltwater Institute teaches value-based business

BOULDER – An on-going learning seminar is now available to business leaders looking to increase performance without sacrificing their personal values.
Beginning on Feb. 17 The Saltwater Institute, a locally-based non-profit educational foundation, will present “The Seven Intentions of Values-Centered Leadership,” a course that teaches professionals how to bridge their values with their business practices in order to create better results. Tom Chappell, founder of the institute and author of “Managing Upside-Down,” will present the experimental seminar. Each will include a workshop led by certified instructors, many of which are successful business professionals.
Several executives of some local businesses associated with the institute are graduates of the course, including Don Vanlandingham, president of Ball Aerospace; Clair Beckmann, senior vice president of Bank One; Jim Newcomb, senior advisor of eSource; Deben Tobias, retired chief financial officer of Bolder Heuristics and the institute’s executive director; Theresa Szczurek, chief executive officer of Technology and Management Solutions; Annette Taylor, president of the Women’s Equity Fund and Nick Forester, founder of E-Town. Some of these executives will also facilitate the course.
