‘Eye’ to ConAgra: Choose one

“Won’t you please, won’t you please, please won’t you be … my neighbor?”

The Eye has heard it sung in Loveland and Greeley as both sweet-talk food product conglomerate ConAgra Inc.

The company has acknowledged that a shopping trip is under way for a headquarters location for its newly formed ConAgra Beef Co., and the bets have been down on a site at Rocky Mountain Village development at Interstate 25 and U.S. 34 in Loveland. After all, ConAgra is listed on city documents as the occupant of a site there.

The new year also brought a message, mailed to every member of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, wishing each a “Happy New Year from your friends at ConAgra Beef Company.”

Could this be a gesture from a new corporate citizen to the Loveland business community?
