BOULDER -Voices For Children is now accepting applications for its January CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) training classes.
Offered only once a year the class is limited to 30 qualified applicants. Working with a guardian attorney, CASA volunteers provide services for abused and neglected children in Boulder County. Assigned to individual cases, volunteers gather information for the Court by seeing the child regularly, talking with those directly involved in the child’s life, including teachers and foster parents, reading case files and writing monthly reports. Volunteers spend an average of 12 hours per month on their cases.
Classes will be held on Saturdays, Jan. 29, Feb. 5 and 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays Feb. 1, 3 and 8 from 6-9:30 p.m.
