Cost of becoming a county

* Broomfield’s city budget will balloon from about $100 million in 1999 to $160 million in 2000 when the construction begins to expand city hall to a city/county municipal building, add county and district court facilities and a county jail.

* Interlocken business park’s growth and FlatIron Crossing will boost revenues from property taxes from the earlier estimated $6.7 million to nearly $12 million
