Ways to thank a caregiver

If you have a caregiver or know someone who has been serving as a primary caregiver, March 3rd is the day to reach out and show them how much they are valued!

Bruni says the two leadership roles are truly complementary.

“I welcome the challenge,” he said.

U.S. Bank is a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB), a diversified financial services company with almost $77.4 billion in assets as of Sept. 30. It is the 13th largest bank holding company in the nation. The commercial banking sector of U.S. Bank is headquartered in Denver.

Bruni received his undergraduate degree in 1977 from the University of Michigan before becoming a Navy pilot for seven years. In the Navy, he was a combat air crew commander and flew national security missions during the Cold War. He also was an instructor pilot and was second in command of a 425-person multinational detachment responsible for operations and maintenance before going on to the master’s of business administration at Harvard Business School. He received an MBA in finance from Harvard in 1986. Before joining U.S. Bank, he worked as an investment banker in Connecticut, then as a regional manager for a private lender.

He moved from Duluth, Minn., to Boulder County in March and lives in Lafayette with his wife, Jeanne, 42, and his stepdaughter, Vanessa, 16, a student at Boulder High School. He has a stepson, Vern, 22, who is a student at the University of Minnesota.

In Minnesota, Bruni was U.S. Bank’s top producer in out-state Minnesota for four years. He said Boulder is a very dynamic market for business because of its entrepreneurial spirit and high-tech orientation and that he likes to participate in the growth of companies. The bank does commercial loans from $1 million to $50 million with Colorado-based companies, he said. One of his clients is Longmont-based Horizon Organic Dairy.
