The Eye: Tim McGraw, Faith Hill test Pelican links

Ya gotta have Faith.

Faith Hill and her husband, Tim McGraw, who performed June 23 at the Greeley Independence Stampede, planned a private round of golf at the Greeley Country Club earlier that day. Trouble was, fans heard about their plans and started to congregate at the country club in hopes of spotting the country music stars.

So Faith and Tim decided to shift their game to the as-yet unopened Pelican Lakes golf course. The two were allowed in by golf-pro Bob McNamee, who even posted a little sign welcoming the two to Pelican, which is slated to open officially in July.

Ways to thank a caregiver

If you have a caregiver or know someone who has been serving as a primary caregiver, March 3rd is the day to reach out and show them how much they are valued!

The Eye spotted the two as they were returning from their game. Faith described the course as “hard,” but not even all-knowing Eye could ascertain the duo’s final score.

From one Eye to another: Private investigator Larry Sizemore, who operates Special Service Investigations Inc. in Fort Collins, accomplished this week what few gumshoes have been able to do. One of Sizemore’s investigators, David Shull, served a civil summons on Wiley E. “Bud” Prentice, president of Applied Computer Technology Inc., and Cynthia Koehler, the firm’s vice president.

Court records detailing more than two dozen creditors’ lawsuits against ACT are replete with investigators’ reports that the two were nearly impossible to find. Shull caught up with Prentice and Koehler as they arrived together at the erstwhile computer manufacturer’s former address.

“This has been our most difficult service, by far, but we did get ’em,” Sizemore said. “My guy said they seemed plenty surprised to see him.” So many lawsuits have been filed that the house in Fort Collins that Prentice owns and where Koehler lives is a frequent stakeout scene.

“Sometimes there are two or three others (process servers) there when we’ve arrived,” Sizemore said. “We just wave at one another.”

The Eye could have saved its private namesakes some trouble. The Eye spotted Prentice at the inaugural Northern Front Range Rockies Venture Club conference at the Ptarmigan Country Club the night before he was tracked down and served.

The purpose of the Rockies Venture Club? To serve as a conduit for venture capitalists and entrepreneurs seeking a cash infusion.
