Seniors find patio homes key to carefree, country living

Ready to give up yard work but not ready for a retirement home? Many seniors are finding that patio homes fill the bill.

“It’s a great interim between having your own single detached home and living in a retirement community,´ said Dorothy Elder, relocation director for Sears Real Estate in Greeley. “The nicest thing about patio homes is there are no attached walls.”

Another selling point is that since the homes are maintenance free, seniors can travel as they please without worrying about tending their property. And many do just that, while the neighborhood association takes care of yard work, including…
