Clubs for seniors pull in desirable customer base

Banks, hospitals, restaurants and other businesses have discovered that marketing to seniors pays off with a stable customer base, experts say.

Area businesses often offer incentives to attract seniors as customers.

Community First Bank in Greeley has a program for customers 55 and older called the Silver Medallion Club.

Members can receive a free checking account, free safe-deposit box, free cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks and money orders, and the fee is waived on any bank debit card, said Flo Mikkelson, customer-relations officer for the bank.
