Sara O’Hagan was promoted to public relations coordinator at Johnson Communications in Broomfield.

Alan Hansberry became associate creative director at Stratecom in Boulder.

Audrey Nelson, Ph.D., a Boulder-based communication consultant, was chosen as a presenter for the 1998 American Association for Affirmative Action National Conference in Denver in April.

William Tompkins became an account executive at MRA Brand/Strategic Communications in Boulder.

Joy Meadows became a senior account executive at Schenkein/Sherman Public Relations in Denver. Jennifer McDuffee became an account executive.

Jeff Derksen became art director at Archetype in Denver. Sarah Steil and Randy Parks became designers.

 

ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION

 

Janet Kritzer became architectural and design representative and business development manager at the Denver office of Pear Commercial Interiors Inc.

 

ENGINEERING

 

Frank Baumann became a senior consultant at Montgomery Watson Laboratories in Boulder.

Richard Smith, chief financial officer for Denver-based Coram Healthcare, was appointed president.

Marion McBain, Esq. became an associate at the firm of Cooper & Tanis PC in Broomfield.

Joseph Siino became a partner in the business and technology group of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP with offices in Denver.

 

MANUFACTURING

 

Paul Scotti became public relations director at Boulder-based Amrion Inc. Brian Law became print services manager.

Tom Kellenberger was named international marketing manager of Cevan International, the export division of Amrion Inc.

Michael Klayko became executive vice president of sales and marketing for McData Corp. of Broomfield.

Barry Nidorf joined the board of directors of BI Inc. in Boulder.

James Havener became vice president, business manager of micro products for Sheldahl Inc., headquartered in Northfield, Minn. with operations in Longmont.

U.S. Department of Energy Rocky Flats Manager Jessie Roberson and Kaiser-Hill President Robert Card were named “Top 25 Newsmakers for 1997” by Engineering News-Record Magazine.

Robert Fuerst became general manager of Vector Modular Interconnection Systems LLC, a new joint venture between Molex Inc. of Lisle, Ill. and Sheldahl Inc., headquartered in Northfield, Minn. with operations in Longmont.

 

NON-PROFIT

 

The I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County elected these officers for 1998: Edie Ortega, U S West, president; Peter D’Jay, vice president; Ron Jung, Jung & Associates, treasurer; and Midge Korczak, secretary.

D.D. Hilke became director of exhibits at the Denver Museum of Natural History.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley appointed Jackson Galaxy as Community Outreach Manager and Bridgette Chesne as volunteer coordinator. Joe Lavine of Lavine Photography and Robert Phillips of Brauchli-Snyder joined the board of directors.

The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts elected these directors for 1998: Chair, Kathryn Paul, president, Kaiser Permanente; Vice Chair, Margot O’Dell, executive director of human resources, U S West; and treasurer, Jim Vaughn, managing partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP.

The Boulder County Division of the American Cancer Society formed a Community Advisory Council comprised of volunteers serving two year terms, including: John Studholme, chief legal advisor; Mark Kaufman, chief financial advisor; and Debbie Krier, chief marketing advisor. Other members include: Robert Bernard, Shari Blake-Schnee, Wendy Boden, Fred Chernow, Caitlin Clark-Zigmond, Diane Coffelt, Howard Fine, Ellen Germaine, Ira Greschler, Cathryn Hazouri, Dr. Lori Jensen, Staci Keys, Joan McClean-Braun, Julie Wienen and Mark Winey Ph.D.

 

 

PUBLIC SECTOR

 

Deputy Mayor William “Will” Toor was named to represent the City of Boulder on the board of directors of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. Councilmember Donald Mock serves as the alternate.

 

SECURITIES

 

Dan Hesser, president and chief executive officer of Denver-based Invesco Funds Group Inc., will retire at the end of 1998.

 

OTHER

 

The International Guide Academy of Boulder/Denver added these staff instructors for 1998: Judy Henke, Bob Lindsay, Mike Saparow, Donna-Andrea Lemm and Carole Bates.

Paul Cooley became vice president of North American sales for Artemis Management Systems Inc. of Boulder, a supplier of enterprise-wide project management solutions.

Jerry Poston, an IBM veteran, became president of IntelliMark, the new information technology division of StaffMark, a provider of diversified staffing, consulting and other services with offices in Boulder.

Amy Himlin and Todd Dickerson joined the Denver office of Cochran, Cochran & Yale.
