$1.6M building near Superior to house wind-industry research

Money from the state, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the national Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation is converting a Quonset hut-style building into the $1.6 million Wind Blade Component Manufacturing Facility at the National Wind Technology Center campus west of Superior.

The Denver Post reports that research done at the building could help bridge the gap between university research and the commercial market, helping wind energy be competitive against other renewable sources and fossil fuels by keeping costs low for consumers.
