Ziegert, who has been with Boulder-based Celestial Seasonings for 19 years, will take over for Peter Burns, the current president of Celestial, who is leaving the company, according to Jennifer Stolte, senior director of marketing at Celestial.
Burns was general manager when he rejoined Celestial in 2008 and was promoted to president in 2011, Stolte said.
Neither Ziegert nor Burns responded to requests for comment. No further details of Burns’ departure were immediately available. Celestial Seasonings is owned by The Hain Celestial Group Inc. (Nasdaq: HAIN) in Melville, New York.
Celestial Seasonings was founded in 1969 in Boulder. The company was sold to Hain Food Group in 2000 for approximately $390 million. Celestial is popular with tourists because it offers free tours at its factory in Boulder.
