WomanCare midwife practice partnering with Banner in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — WomanCare, a Fort Collins-based midwife practice, has acquired privileges to deliver all its patients’ babies at Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, the hospital announced Tuesday.

WomanCare, headed by nurse/midwife Dian Sparling, had been partnering with Poudre Valley Hospital, across the street from WomanCare’s office at 1260 Doctors Lane in Fort Collins. WomanCare is looking for a new office on the south end of town, closer to the hospital that is located at 4700 Lady Moon Drive south of Harmony Road. WomanCare began delivering babies at Banner Health at the first of the year.

Sparling opened WomanCare in 1983 as the first nurse/midwife-owned practice in Northern Colorado. Last year, WomanCare midwives delivered nearly 200 babies from a patient base that stretches from Cheyenne and Laramie in Wyoming, south to Denver.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

“We like the small family feel of Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, the close-knit relationship with our patients, nursing staff and physicians,” said Jennifer Steir, a certified nurse/midwife with WomanCare.

WomanCare providers will work closely with Banner Medical Group obstetricians Antonino Barbera and Sarah Schutte for needs that fall outside WomanCare’s scope of services, including high-risk pregnancies and surgeries.

Banner Fort Collins Medical Center is an acute-care hospital and is part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health-care system with 28 hospitals in six states.
