Weakley takes leadership post with Bryan Cave’s technology law practice

BOULDER — Attorney Mark Weakley, managing partner in Bryan Cave LLP’s office in Boulder, has been named the deputy leader of the international law firm’s Technology, Entrepreneurial and Commercial practice.

Weakley will take over as companywide TEC leader Jan. 1. He is stepping down as managing partner in the Boulder office to take on the new responsibilities.

Attorney Chris Hazlitt will become the managing partner in Boulder.

Weakley has been with Bryan Cave since its merger with Holme Roberts & Owen LLP in 2012. He joined HRO in 2000. Weakley focuses on venture-capital financing, and mergers and acquisitions for technology companies. He advises private-fund advisers on the structuring, formation and operation of U.S. and offshore pooled investment vehicles such as hedge funds, venture-capital, private-equity and real estate funds.

Hazlitt’s practice focuses on capital formation, mergers and acquisition, and private equity for tech, software and consumer product companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. Hazlitt has been with Bryan Cave since 2012. Previously, he was with Faegre & Benson LLP, Chrisman Bynum & Johnson and Ice Miller.
