Village at the Peaks announces new batch of tenants

LONGMONT — NewMark Merrill Mountain States on Monday announced the names of three previously unnamed tenants for the under-construction Village at the Peaks Shopping Center, bringing the total number of restaurants for the site to eight.

Burger joint Culvers, sub sandwich shop Jersey Mike’s, and custom pizza spot Pie Five were among the new offerings announced. NewMark also officially announced that Village Inn would be opening at Village at the Peaks, a deal reported by BizWest earlier this month.

Culver’s, based in Wisconsin, has restaurants in Fort Collins, Greeley and Johnstown. New Jersey-based Jersey Mike’s has 17 Colorado locations, including Fort Collins and Louisville, with more on the way. Pie Five, which started in the Dallas area in 2011, has yet to enter the Colorado market.

Developers said the four new leases put the $90 million, 490,000-square-foot Village at the Peaks above the 80 percent leased mark. The initial round of store openings is slated to occur in the fall, with another round in early 2016 and more in the spring of 2016.

NewMark Merrill Mountain States principal Allen Ginsborg said that he couldn’t yet specify which stores will open when because those decisions are made by each individual store. Phase 1 of construction, though — which includes the movie theater, the revamped former Dillard’s building, the Whole Foods area at the south end of the site, the Village area in the center, and leased pad sites along Hover — is on track to be completed by this fall. Sam’s Club, at the north end of the site, is slated to break ground this summer.

NewMark officials did announce that Whole Foods would be taking possession of its store on Tuesday to continue buildout and interior finish now that the developers have built what Ginsborg termed a “modified shell.” Wyatt’s Wine and Liquor and Sports Authority will take possession at similar stages in the second half of July.

Also Monday, NewMark announced that it will host a back-to-school block party and property preview from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 22, where the public will be able to take guided tours of construction progress and sample food from Village at the Peaks restaurants.
