Venture funding in Colorado slips in the first quarter

Venture-capital in Colorado slipped for the second straight quarter, accordiong to the Denver Post.

Seventeen Colorado companies received just under $79 million in venture investment in the first quarter of 2013, a drop of 18.3 percent from the amount invested in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The trend is raising concerns that a key source of funding for startup companies my be evaporating.
