USA Pro Challenge returns to Northern Colorado

The USA Pro Challenge will come back to Northern Colorado next year after the region sat out the race this year due to devastation wrought by the floods of 2013.

Fans voted to bring back a stretch of the cycling race from Loveland to Fort Collins on Aug. 22, 2015, race organizers said Monday. The weeklong Colorado race begins in Steamboat Springs and ends in Denver. Northern Colorado will play host to stage 6.

Race organizers will announce additional details, including route descriptions, in the spring.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

Nearly half of fans voted for a portion of the USA Pro Challenge to take place in Northern Colorado, race organizers said.

“It has been incredible to witness the outpouring of support from the Northern Colorado community who has rallied together to bring back the USA Pro Challenge in 2015,” said Eric Thompson, local organizing member of USA Pro Challenge.

In 2013, race organizers decided the region should skip the 2014 race because of timing in funding commitments for the race. Flooding in September of 2013 washed away large portions of U.S. 34 and 36, setting back businesses and residents.

The 2013 race came through Northern Colorado in August, starting in Loveland and looping through Estes Park before ending in Old Town Fort Collins.

The 2015 race will go through the following areas:

  • Stage 1: Monday, Aug. 17 – Steamboat Springs Circuit Race
  • Stage 2: Tuesday, Aug. 18 – Steamboat Springs to Arapahoe Basin
  • Stage 3: Wednesday, Aug. 19 – Copper Mountain Resort to Aspen
  • Stage 4: Thursday, Aug. 20 – Aspen to Breckenridge
  • Stage 5: Friday, Aug. 21 – Breckenridge Individual Time Trial
  • Stage 6: Saturday, Aug. 22 – Loveland to Fort Collins
  • Stage 7: Sunday, Aug. 23 – Golden to Denver
