UCHealth also operates an emergency room at 120th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Thornton.
“It is important for patients to have access to the most appropriate level of care, close to home,” said Lori Japp, physician assistant and UCHealth’s vice president of urgent care.
“Urgent-care locations offer extended and weekend hours, and they are far less expensive than emergency departments,” she said.
The new urgent-care clinic, which opened Jan. 3, provides care from nurse physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. It will also offer laboratory and X-ray services.
The clinic offers treatment for sprains, strains or possible broken bones, headaches, sore throats and coughs, ear infections, fever and flu symptoms, minor burns, rashes, abdominal pain and vomiting, lacerations and animal bites.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
