UCHealth buys 10 acres adjacent to Broomfield hospital site
BROOMFIELD ā Aurora-based health-care system University of Colorado Health has purchased 10 acres of land adjacent to its recently opened hospital in the Arista mixed-use development in Broomfield.
UCHealth paid $6.6 million for the vacant land at 11880 Destination Drive. The seller was Park 36 Investments LLC, an entity led by Tim Wiens of Wiens Capital Management that has been developing Arista.
The parcel is āLā shaped and abuts the western and southern borders of the hospital property.

UCHealth spokesman Dan Weaver declined to comment on what UCHealth may build on the property, saying only that UCHealth is working on plans for a āpossible new locationā in Broomfield near the UCHealth Broomfield Hospital. UCHealth met with Broomfieldās planning department Aug. 15, but did not specify what the project might entail and has not yet submitted conceptual plans to the city, said city planner Michael Sutherland.
The 80,000-square-foot hospital at 11820 Destination DriveāÆis a partnership between UCHealth and Texas-based Adeptus Health. It opened with 22 licensed inpatient beds, but a finished third floor provides room to more than double to 50 licensed beds as demand warrants.
