Two major Denver-area physician groups merge

Two primary-care independent practice associations are merging, effective Jan. 1, to create the Denver metro area’s largest group of primary care physicians, the entities announced recently.

Primary Physician Partners, which covers the north and west portions of the metro area, is joining forces with South Metro Primary Care, which covers the south and east areas. The new entity, PHPprime, will serve about 375,000 Coloradans according to a press release.

Physician Health Partners, a Denver medical management company, will manage PHPprime.
