Torchy’s Tacos, J. Crew join tenant mix at Foothills Mall in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — Two more businesses plan to locate in the Foothills Mall redevelopment area at South College Avenue and Foothills Parkway in midtown Fort Collins.

Torchy’s Tacos has leased 4,000 square feet in an ancillary building along College Avenue to open its second Colorado location. The chain, which started in 2006 in a food truck in Austin, Texas, made its debut in Colorado in April in a converted Arby’s at 11th Avenue and Broadway in Denver. Specialties, which are ordered at the counter, include a Baja Shrimp taco with cabbage slaw, pickled onions and jalapenos, cotija, cilantro, lime and chipotle sauce, and a Trailer Park taco with fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico, cheese and poblano ranch. All Torchy’s other locations are in Texas.

Courtney Dahlberg Key and Brian Shorter of the SullivanHayes brokerage represented the tenant before landlord Alberta Development Co.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

Meanwhile, J. Crew, an apparel store for men and women that already has a location in the Outlets at Loveland, has applied for a building permit for 5,000 square feet within the enclosed mall. The chain’s Colorado locations include FlatIron Crossing in Broomfield, Twenty Ninth Street in Boulder, Cherry Creek Mall in Denver and Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, as well as stores in Colorado Springs and Aspen.

The $313 million mall-renovation project is to open by November with 660,000 square feet of retail space, a 10-screen movie theater, a recreation center, hundreds of apartments and a 1,000-space parking garage.
